The star of Mammoth Lakes, is Mammoth Mountain Ski Area (MMSA), founded in 1953 by Dave McCoy, which sits proudly at 11,059’ and boasts over 3,500 skiable acres, with 3,100 of vertical descent. Mammoth Mountain has one of the longest ski seasons in the United States, running, on average, from early-November until Memorial Day or later. Throughout the summer season, MMSA offers mountain-biking and many other activities.
