June Mountain is the quieter, sister-mountain of Mammoth Mountain and is known for its family friendly atmosphere, where children 12-and-under ski for free. This sleepy, picturesque, quaint little mountain-town is famous for its crystal-clear blue alpine-lakes, camp-grounds, hiking-trails and world-famous fishing. Its Main Street is lined with numerous little shops, bars and restaurants with possibly, the best brewery tucked off along a hidden little side-street. The “June Lake Loop,” is the 25 mile two-lane highway that links it all together. This scenic road winds its way through the town past the ski-resort, and past all the numerous lakes (June Lake, Grant Lake, Gull Lake and Silver Lake..) that line the road. From start to finish, this scenic byway is as beautiful as it gets.
